Comment:

When does the underground stop and the mainstream begin? This mix was inspired by overhearing one too many "sell-out" arguments. Does the "sell-out" thing really apply if a band cranks out good music through it's whole career? Here's a mix of groups that started in one place and ended up in another; and continued to be great the entire time.

Nice to see some old faves here. I remember playing a fair amount of That Petrol Emotion, rising from the ashes of the Undertones, back in my college dj days. Can't say I know what happened to 'em, though.

hmm I think you can sell out and still make great music, I don't think that to sell-out you have to suddenly start making crap. Selling out has more to do with doing it for the money or doing what the record execs tell you too. Weezer is a good example. I still like thier music, but they are sellouts.

Im still a little worried about Matt Johnson. What's it called when you change with the times and then change back...I guess its better than going solo and putting out a AAA album. Maybe that's the new "sell out." Ewww Sorry--good idea for a mix.
