Comment:

I love Jimmy Martin's "Grand Ole Opry Song" and I wanted to put together a compilation of all the songs and artists listed in that song. There are a couple of lyric differences between the older and newer versions of the song, and I've tried to include the tunes mentioned in both versions. I've changed the order of the songs from the order they're mentioned in the lyrics, for various reasons. THIS MIX IS VERY MUCH A WORK IN PROGRESS! In particular, I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone can provide me with a version of "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered" by the McGee brothers, Bradley Kincaid's version of "Blue Tail Fly," or anything by Lazy Jim Day. And, of course, any other additions, corrections, or suggestions are very much welcome!

WOW. This is fabulous, Misfit! I don't have many suggestions. If you're missing anything, it's probably a gospel number -- something with 4-part harmony. Also, the Bill Monroe song "Heavy Traffic Ahead" is the story of the Blue Grass Boys pulling out of Nashville on Saturday nights after the Opry, playing gigs around the country, and then heading for Nashville after their Friday night gig to make the Opry again on Saturday. That's the story of the Blue Grass Boys for many years. (Of course you know, I'll need a copy of the final version.) Great work.

is that George "Goober" Lindsey covering his face on the cover? great concept...guess it's time to make a mix of all the bands mentioned in Tullycraft's "Pop Songs (your new boyfriend's too stupid to know about)"...

Brandt, that is indeed "Goober" standing next to Minnie Pearl. Good eye!
