Comment:
For Mart(h)a Gomez, after much passed time. Yes, I still have to send long-since-compiled custom mixes to Lakespeed and Kathleen Gallagher, along with various mixes to the Misfit, DJ Hoover, buglady and lo-fi jr (I haven't forgotten). Thanks to Sean for "Vegetable Man" and to Jen for Lloyd Cole, Thrill Kill Kult, and Rhett Miller. Title from the Soft Boys track; subtitle from the Thrill Kill Kult track.Feedback:
Interesting. I really like that Lloyd Cole song, and of course, the 'meow meow' Boogiemansmash song.
Aah, you got "Magnesium Proverbs" then. Nice one Rob.
This looks indispensible, Rob. A great mix. I'm still digging your mixed genre discs from a few months back. You do 'em good, my friend.
Looks great, Rob, lots of excellent picks...
Good stuff, Rob. I always like seeing a mixed genre mix from you. Very nice.
ooh i never thought I seen a mix by Rob Conroy including a song by "My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult" but that's fine with me ;), sweet stuff
This looks really nice.
rob is the king of curveball, mixwise. i wouldn't have expected thrill kill cult either, but those sorts of things make his work phenomenal...
yep.., that's a good My Life With...choice...and Lloyd Cole, etc., a wicked curve will keep ya' in the majors for a long, long time!
looking good. i love "vegetable man" always reminded me of the captain vegetable sketch from sesame street.
solid fucking gold, spesh the stretch from PiL to pink floyd.
Thrill Kill Kult? Once again, another band I hate that now must be reconsidered after appearing on a Conroy mix. No prob with the rest of this. My fave PiL tune, too!
Nice, Very, very nice. I too am a fan of your mixed genre creations. I was just enjoying Passion Looks Like a Painting on the train this morning.
Rob, this is great. i need your address again to send you a tape of "martha's tacos." i would love to add your "fridge" mix to my collection. i've never heard some of these artists(ie. boogie man and martha wainwright). this looks very cool.
great stuff, rob.
Quite nice.
woo
Looks great Rob, How i wrote elastic man is a all-time fav....god damned great song!cool to see you pick Muddy Waters....he was a master on electric slide guitar!
I'll add my name to the list of admirers of this mix. I too was a bit surprised to see My Life With A Throat Cold (that's what we used to call them at my college radio station) on one of your mixes, but somehow it makes me respect you even more.
Oh god. This is one of the best mixes i've seen here. I mean it.
