Comment:

While it's easy to assume that EPMD's in their comfort zone on such career standouts as "Knick Knack Patty Wack" (featuring the same Joe Cocker sample as 2Pac's "California Love") and "Never Defeat Em" (a stack of James Bond breaks set against a killer Method Man cameo), the New York-based duo holds their own on the West Coast as well. While DJ Quik's "U Ain't Fresh!" drops Eric Sermon in a room full of laser-like synth lines, "Throw Your Hands In the Air" is vintage Cypress Hill — spooky and spare — and Too $hort's "Buy You Some" is gangsta rap at its grittiest.
