Comment:

As if EPMD's name didn't spell out their mission statement ("Erick and Parrish Making Dollars") loudly enough, all of the duo's albums have had "business" in their title for a reason: because they mean it, whether we're talkin' about the guest-free golden-age rap of Strictly Business or their pair of comeback platters in the late '90s, Back in Business and Out of Business. The latter wasn't their sample-slinging swan song either. While Erick Sermon's had a healthy solo career ("Music" nearly topped the Hip-Hop/R&B charts with its haunting Marvin Gaye hook) and continues to crank out hits with his Def Squad crew — featuring Redman and Keith Murray — the East Coast icons have stayed in the game for more than two decades, constantly bouncing between the underground and the mainstream heads they helped create.
