Comment:

The music of Dwight Yoakam does something to me. I can't explain it. Especially "Little Sister"--he does this hiccuping thing and I just melt. It's kind of sick.

Hey, he's OK in my book. He's one of the very few in country music who still gets airplay on country radio, and is cool enough for the rock guys to listen to. The Bakersfield sound, I guess.

No explanation needed. Buying "Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc." on cassette was a significant event for me. It was the first time I had actually ventured into the country section of a record store. What had started with Jason & The Scorchers and Lone Justice eventually moved on to Dwight Yoakam and Steve Earle, at which point, things exploded exponentially.
