"Candy" is an Iggy Pop tune from the late '80s... long after the Stooges. And when did VU ever do "Crimson & Clover"? I think you're probably talking about the Tommy James & the Shondells version.
the amazing thing is how many people actually think that the VU DID do that song. Obviously some mis-labelled MP3 has made the rounds of the world a few million times!
