Formed in 1996 around the nucleus of sister/brother Katie and Tyrone Noonan, george arrived in style when their first album, 2002's [i]Polyserena[/i], debuted at #1 on the album charts, and subsequently went platinum. A steady run of excellent singles and EPs had prefigured that success — here was a band whose finesse in terms of both song craft and musicianship was far above the ordinary, a reflection of the Noonan siblings' classical background, in particular Katie's training at the Queensland Conservatorium. Even though the band has not yet returned from a hiatus begun in 2006, the quality of tracks like "Falling Inside," "Special Ones," and "Jaded" has been confirmed by time.
