Ignore the carpers who tell you that Jet has borrowed a riff from here, a hook from there . . . these Aussie firebrands possess a surfeit of rock 'n' roll DNA in their bones, which makes their signposted nods to the Stones, AC/DC, and the Fab Four a salute to the source, rather than a mark of cynical duplication. Like Oasis, they've distilled their influences into modern-rock nectar, and their delivery might leave you blissfully dazed but never confused: Jet are the real deal, from their cocksure, swaggering chart-scorchers ("Are You Gonna Be My Girl," "She's a Genius") to the softly glowing ballads ("Look What You've Done," "Shine On").
