Comment:
Made as an addendum to the "Wake the Fuck Up/Go the Fuck to Sleep" mixes for my indie-loving friend Meaghan... 60 songs from 60 artists, most of whom she probably has never heard of (and I could have easily made a fourth mix but it has to end somewhere!). I can't believe I forgot to include Chris Knox on the mix, because when I realized he wouldn't fit on either of the other two, that's what inspired me to make this mix of songs that just didn't tonally (or just time-wise) fit on those other two albums in the first place. As opposed to those two mixes, pre-planned and reworked endlessly, I made this mix kamikaze style, throwing it together without listening to the rough draft or considering any theme whatsoever... and it turned out really well... I love that I coincidentally used Zumpano and Destroyer back-to-back, a New Pornographers related double feature, especially good because the New Pornographers song I gave to her on another disc was sung by the third front(wo)man Neko Case. And I love how this Radar Bros. song sounds on the mix, remind me to use it on later mixes too. Oh, and why is it Kings of Convenience, Motorhomes and Royksopp are never mentioned in the recent articles about great music coming out of Sweden.... it doesn't all sound like The Hives, you know!Feedback:
christ on a crutch! this is wonderful! you rule!
