Honestly, I think Pavement rubs Cake's nose in the dirt on this mix... what is that Cake song I love though... scanning through my mp3s... oh, "Italian Leather Sofa."
It depends on my mood which band I like better...
I like the idea, but how could you leave out "Never There" and "Mr. Mastadon Farm", both by Cake???
Ahhhh! This is so so craziness. I first got into indie music in 7th grade with a tape my brother gave me. One side was Cake's "Fashion Nugget" and the other side was Pavement's "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain". I have so many fond memories of both, but I have to say that Pavement was a gateway to more cool bands than Cake ever could.
