Country: 1996
Comment:
"Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands" first hit the charts as a Top 5'er for Lee Greenwood in 1982, but we're guessin' Lee didn't mind when Reba McEntire went ahead and took it back to the Top 10 in '96. John D. Loudermilk likely wasn't too perturbed, either when Neal McCoy scored a Top 5 finish with Loudermilk's "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye" — the third time the song had traveled to the Top 10 (after '60s versions by the Casinos and Eddy Arnold). And '96 marks the sole appearance on the country charts of a true icon, as Tejano accordion whiz Flaco Jiménez gives a lift to the Mavericks and "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down."
