Comment:

Made for a co-worker who is a big fan of Kevin Barnes' group Of Montreal, but has never heard of any other Elephant 6 bands... so here is a introductory mix for him (hence the proliferation of Track 1's) using all the E6 bands in my CD collection. The final five artists are not in any way E6 related, but are other bands I think he might like that have a somewhat related sound (and also he likes Modest Mouse, so I figure he might like some of these groups too... almost included Pinback, but for time issues, it got booted in favor of Oranger).

excellent...hard to start off an E6 mix without "narrator/tidal wave"

i don't think boycrazy and call & response are part of the "E6 collective"...but this is a good mix nonetheless

splendid..."caring is creepy" and "song against sex" will never bring anything but sheer bliss.

Though neither are listed on elephant6.com, Boycrazy features members of the Minders and Call & Response features Kevin Barnes (Of Montreal) and Bill Doss (Olivia Tremor Control), so I figured they count by association.

I wish I had co-workers like you. I've only heard a couple of these and would love to hear the rest.

Wow! I'd like this mix. A lot of stuff I don't have. How 'bout a trade? I have other stuff available besides the mixes listed.

Pretty great. (I did something similar with my own Neo Pop For Pure People.) Dressy Bessy is one E6 band that comes to mind missing here, but otherwise you appear to have hit them all. And for bonus tracks, you just can't get any better than "Eggtooth," which should be mandatory on every pop mix.

Yeah, I picked your "Neo Pop For Pure People" mixes as Favorites a long time ago. Yeah, I wasn't makingthis a completist E6 mix, just what I had in my collection, otherwise there'd be some Gerbils, some Great Lakes (I've actually been meaning to get a Great Lakes album), maybe some Pipes You See Pipes You Don't if I can ever manage to hear that band...

really nice stuff. i, too, wish i had co-workers who were into stuff like this. the closest i get to someone liking the same kind of music as me is having a youngin here (were talking age 20) hearing about a local band i like.
