Made both to commemorate and supply more material for a friend's first DJ gig. I've worked with this guy for years and this year he's discovered a love for funk/soul/jazz and I've rediscovered mine. One thing lead to another and he ended up getting a tryout at a local club here in Vancouver called the Royal, DJ'ed his first night last Friday and was a huge success. It was really cool seeing tons of people dancing to tunes that in some form or other came from my computer. You name a cool rare soul/funk comp that's come out in the last 5 years or so and I've either bought or burned it! This stuff is from the miscellaneous folder of MP3's on my system, stuff that was randomly downloaded from sources like WINMX & didn't have a home on a compilation. Seeing as the night was called "Home Cooking" the idea of a bunch of food related tunes seemed like a good idea.
