Comment:
wrapping up my vacation fueled spree of mixes: a cosmic love story, hosted by the one & only Leonard Nimoy [whose interludes in the above are roughly :30 second edits of tracks off his infamous album, preceded by a turn-the-page 'ding!' in the style of those old audio children's books]. after a brief introduction (#1), the scene shifts to Mars, and our protaganist alien, a self-defined teenage rebel alien boy without a cause (#3) and his virtual escape from his surroundings (#4) in search of...SOMETHING. act II is set back on earth, where we meet an earthling kindred spirit girl, with her eyes fixed to the stars, reading books about ufos and sitting on her roof watching the skies. (#6-#8). our alien lands! (#10) the fallout that ensues is beyond his imagination: the media, the attempts at communication, the worship, the crackpots...(#10-#13), and finally, despair: feeling hunted and without hope (#14). but, alas, to the rescue: our earthling girl is different: hey mr. spaceman, would you take me for a ride? (#16) why, who is this alien girl? [and she is an alien to our alien boy]. alien boy. alien girl. they don't understand, cuz they're from another world. (#17) . oh, mr. spaceman, what have you done? LOVE. LOVE! (#18, #19). what ensues next is the David Lynch portion of the drama: is it metaphor? metaphysical? metamorphic? whichever interpretation you prefer, our alien boy shows our earthling heroine there are other worlds they have not told you of, alien girl..(#21)...and if you're bored on earth, outerspaceways, inc. is the way to go...let me show you (#22). and they're off, asleep at light speed (#23), into the vastness of space (or is it vastness of love?), drifting... (#25, #26)...until, the triumphant finale: guilty feet have got no rhythm, so it's a disco party: LIFE ON MARS! (#28). happily ever after, etc.Feedback:
Far out! as John Denver (R.I.P.) might say. This looks fifty times better than Solaris. It appears you're enjoying your vacation. Have you found time for water skiing?
wow i really really like this!!!! no for real thats awsome! what a amazing idea. this is one of my favs!!!
Great! See my space mix. Perhaps we can trade. Nice use of those Nimoy tracks.
Looks awesome, Jeff, both in conception and execution.
Fantastic picks plus a cool concept. Especially dig the Magnog.
This is great. Love the Sun Ra through TFUL282 bit especially.
extremely cool mix, love to have this
superb mix! sounds very very entertaining!
...as someone purportedly from Frolix 8 I can get behind that "outerspaceways, inc." idea...great stuff for excursions in the "big spaces."
Happy vacation Lakespeed!
Happy vacation Lakespeed!
this is either brillance or madness. or both.
Ditto all the above!
