Comment:

My favorite 80 minutes from an artist whom I'd more or less unfairly ignored until meeting Jen (he's her favorite). While I never had any objection to Lloyd, I pretty much hadn't heard anything from him since "Rattlesnakes"... which means I missed hearing his two best albums, "Bad Vibes" and "Love Story", until now. Thanks, Jen--I really appreciate you turning me on to his stuff. And although I'm usually prone to dismiss most "aging" artists' current work, I have to admit that the last (and most recent) song on this mix is close to being my favorite. Former title (and hence the partially-deleted Jeff Buckley discussion in which I called him overrated): "Swimming is easy when you're stuck in the middle of the Mississippi."

Looks good Rob. Perfect Skin is a great song that I never tire of hearing. Another song I really like is My Bag, which failed to make the cut apparently. I haven't anything by him since the second album -- I must admit I'm prone to ignore aging artists as well (i.e. Paul Westerberg, David Bowie, Tom Petty...)

This looks good, Rob. I haven't heard much of him, although I know he hails from these shores. We must set up another round of trades post-santa.

Looks good, Rob. I also had sort of dismissed Lloyd Cole. I'll have to give him more of a listen. As for Jeff Buckley, as I'm a fan, I'll have to respectfully disagree w/you re: the music world's loss. I think he (Jeff) put out some fine music (not all of it I love, but a lot of it).

never knew you didn't like jeff, rob...oh well. at least if we ever want to annoy you senselessly we can create a tape of jeff and you am i and all the other stuff you don't like and play it constantly and then you'll probably go mad and; hmm, sorry about that. funnily enough my brother recently introduced me to lloyd cole, well, his music. and i was impressed. i remember liking a vin ordinaire.
