Comment:

I made this mix tape for someone who's very dear to me -- a former boyfriend with whom I had a very long relationship that got awkward at the end. We're trying to be friends, but somehow it's not entirely working, and sometimes I have to remind him that affection is a good thing, and that just because he's no longer everything to me doesn't mean he's not anything to me. Sometimes music expresses this sentiment better than words alone do. The sides were called "You will be my best tin soldier" and "I will sleep tonight" after a line in the tape's title song. The cover sleeve was a hand-colored frame from a Krazy Kat kartoon of Ignatz throwing a brick at Krazy while Offisa Bull Pup looks on, thinking, "Instigation!"
