Comment:

This is the first mix I'm submitting to this website, which i happened to stumble across late one night. I have about five mix albums catalogued on my computer..once there were nine, but the first four were lost to time and disregard. I'd like to hear your comments on this album - I'm pretty proud of all my children and spend a lot of time to ensure the albums getting a good ebb and flow and not having too many well-known songs on them..you know, like John Cusack explains it at the end of High Fidelity - "step it up a notch, but be careful, you don't want to blow your load." So please, post your comments and I'll post the rest if people like them. I'm also willing to trade, just email me.

High Fidelity by Nick Hornby is ten times better than High Fidelity by John Cusack. Read the book. It's phenomenol.

I've done both, as well as listened to a crappy audiobook version. As I recall, though, even Nick Hornby admitted that the film version of High Fidelity captured almost the whole essence of the book. I felt the same way when I read/watched About a Boy.

I actually liked the movie more than the book (its that damn jack black), though the book was great. Didn't like About a boy the movie, loved the book. But since this is AOM, not the Madison Literary Circle...this is a great mix, looks like it was culled straight from my collection mix tapes. Though you should know better than to put strokes twice in the first eight trax.

*laughing* well, to be honest, I couldn't resist the two Strokes tracks..they don't sound terribly similar to one another, and I like the way "Is This It" opens the cd. But it's a pretty common error of my earlier stuff to fill my cds with multiple tracks of the same artist - notice I have two Beulah songs, as well.

I'd be willing to trade for this. I'll email you in a bit. And just as an aside, I really liked the movie "About a Boy."

Congratulations just mispelling Elliott Smith's name for the 600th time on this site! May we look forward to the next 600 "Elliot Smith"s! This'd be a nice mix to give to someone as an intro to better music, certainly.
