(ACTUALLY A 2CD MIX) No huge concept here-- a mix made for a mate. Sonic Youth are our primary common musical ground, so I decided to make a mix imagining the Sonic Youth as the balancing point of rock before and after, and picking artists I thought generally informed, were informed by, or were contemporaneously like minded with Sonic Youth. There are others I personally would include--Destroy All Monsters, Slowdive, The Residents, Liliput, et al--but that I was doubtful my friend would like. Also, a few of the artists here are a stretch at being Sonic Youth-related. I'm happy with the mix as just a good mix, hopefully a few things my friend didn't already know. *ian
