a friend of mine asked me for a tape primarily for a roadtrip she's taking. i know that the tape will be used for more than just the trip, but i wanted to focus on the setting of the car on the open road. the lyrics of these songs have no bearing on my friendship with her because roadtrip tapes are supposed to be based around the music. it's not the words that make you step on the gas, it's the way it sounds. sure, the voice can be used as a sound, but i think it's the other instrumentation that actually makes you drive the way you do when listening to a tape. i know that some songs at certain volumes make me put the pedal on the floor, and others keep me relaxed to where i'm actually under the speed limit at times. but if the main purpose of this tape is initially to assist on a roadtrip, then i was going to mix it with that in mind.
