Townes Van Zandt was wired differently from the rest of us. He was a troubled soul whose hard-living ways only complicated his life further, leading to an untimely end. At the same time, he had an uncanny ability to peer into the deepest parts of himself, turning what he found into an unparalleled body of powerful, poetic work.
