Something I put together a year or two ago but never got around to posting here. I read this morning that Joe Strummer died over the weekend, an apparent heart attack at age 50. The Clash have been, and remain, one of my favorite bands, and anyone who has visited my music website (http://www.fagel.com) knows that London Calling is my favorite album of all time. In a music collection now topping 2,000 discs, I'd say that's quite the accomplishment. Thanks for the memories, Joe. Say hi to John Entwistle, George Harrison, and the others who found themselves in rock heaven this year.

Nice stuff here. I too was thinking of Strummer this morning. It's nice to know I am not alone. As Greg Dulli of Aghan Whigs once said, "Every day I thank God for the Clash".

Yeah, I've been pretty depressed all morning. I actually meant to send you an e-mail about this, but apparently I haven't added you to my "contacts list" yet. I'll do so now, my friend.

....their impact upon me has been massive.., I did get to see B.A.D. in Phoenix on the Globe Tour...my firend and manager at the time gladly gave me the day off-without notice, because I'd just heard that morning they were going to be there...he knew, from all my raving, how much seeing an ex-Clash member was important to me... g'bye JOE! (and, exactly what Greg Dulli-via Starpush-said!!!)

...I know you can't fit *everything* on one disc, but I'd have to take "The Call Up" (or "the Cool Out" from Super Black Market Clash) and "Death Is a Star"...("..and I was gripped..")

The Clash are my favorite rock and roll band of all time. And of the guys in the band, Joe Strummer was my favorite. I'll miss him.

it was the day before xmas but we didn't play any christmas songs in the record store where i work, we just play clash all day just for him, and later on I have a drink for him, this could be the best band in the world ever, i don't care what you all say about Beatles or stones,
