Comment:

In tribute to Casetta's "Vinyl Randomness 33/23" mix, I've done a similar thing with my MP3 collection. I arranged a library of all my mp3's in alphabetical order by artist, and picked out every 123rd song for this mix. I didn't make it completely through the list, but I think the random results speak for themselves. I was happy that Nilsson, the Beach Boys, and the Pernice Bros all made it on, and with songs that I probably wouldn't normally have thought to put on a mix. And those Bobby McFerrin and DMB tracks I wish could have stayed buried in my collection. Fortuitously, the Mat's track makes a great closer.

yeah, i was gonna say, this looks fantastic, all except for the two you mentioned. i've got a funny story about the dmb - my boyfriend, who works in an indie record store, was working the other day when a cd was playing in the store. after having to listen to it for 1/2 hour (and absolutely hating it) he walked over to see what it was, and it was dmb!!! see, in australia he's not so well known, which is fantastic news! (and let's hope it stays like that).
