This is a chronological look at instrumental jazz. It attempts to follow some of the movements of the greats from Armstrong to Davis. It cullminates with Don Cabellero as an exploration of how those innovators are being interpreted and expanded on outside the "traditional" jazz community. It is, of course, a very cursory look since many of the tracks come in at over seven minutes, but it's a good listen regardless.
