Catherine Britt
Artist | Song |
Comment:
Spotted by Bill Chambers before she was a teenager (albeit a pre-teen well-versed in the songs of Jimmie Rodgers), then mentored by Bill's daughter Kasey, Novocastrian country talent Catherine Britt made her album debut with Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak Cures in 2002 — a confident collection of charmers like "46 Miles from Alice" and "Help Me I'm Falling" that showcased a voice pure and true, and revealed a natural way with crossover material. Among those blown away by Britt was Elton John, who helped speed her progress to Nashville, where she cut 2006's Too Far Gone and Little Wildflower (2008), and made her presence known on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with "The Upside of Being Down." After that Stateside adventure, during which she picked up valuable industry knowledge (and a bunch of fresh inspiration), Britt returned home for her self-titled fourth album, her best yet: check out the sunny delights of "Can't Change a Thing."
