I got the idea for this mix from the July issue of CMJ New Music Monthly (you know, the magazine that comes with a CD!). The first two songs on the CD are the first two songs on this tape. Both songs kick ass, as does the rest of the CD, but I could never listen to the rest of the CMJ CD because the mood changed completely after those two songs. So I thought I'd make a whole tape of songs in the same mood. The next two songs come from the other CDs in my stereo at the time, and the rest just came from there. Some comments about a couple of the other songs: Bunnies of Doom is a local band here in Tulsa. Their song is from a compilation called "Tulsa Homegroan Volume One." And the Sarah McLachlan cover of "Unchained Melody," though it sounds like something that would be completely out of place, is actually pretty appropriate (I think, at least). It's a very dark version, which goes along with the whole mood.
