Comment:

[i should have elaborated a bit on the song selection for i realize that it may seem rather random.] the mix - alike many other mixes - is illustrious of a few personal progressions. as such, the songs i chose begin with a focus of clearity - a clearity leads to a revelation, an epiphany, of fate. my intention was to illustrate how fate leads one to certain places and people, and consequently triggers specific more positive emotions. the middle of the album - while less easy to explain - focuses mainly on self exploration/preservation, leaving a trail of melancholy behind. the latter part of the mix takes the same idea of the optimistic fatalist expressed in the beginning of the mix and hyperbolizes the melancholy even further - to the point where fate actually pulls people apart.
additionally, i arranged the songs selectively so that each distinctive sound of each preceding song matched to that which followed it - to allow for mild auditory transitions. while there are certain points in the mix where brief moments of rapid-paced loud music are present, it is for the most part calm throughout. in setting such a tempo i had to find and place on the mix covers of certain songs over the originals. as for the last travis song, it is simply a private dedication directed towards the person whom this mix is made for.
