Like fellow Yorkshire-woman and Mercury Prize nominee Elisa Carthy, Kate Rusby belongs to the handful of pioneering young artists who have given the English folk movement fresh legs in the 21st century. Her soft, slightly breathy voice is love at first listen for new devotees (try to stop yourself falling to your knees, helpless, during "Blooming Heather") and holds up in the pop-crossover setting of her 2006 duet with Ronan Keating, "All Over Again".
