Comment:

I made this mix for my good friend Alex. She and I are constantly coming upon random music we've never heard of and telling the other about it. She gave me a CD the other day that (save for a few bands) had nothing I'd heard of on it. So, I decided to do the same (though she's heard of some of these too). I think its a great mix. It starts oul mellow-ish with Dropline and Jason Mraz, before taking up a few with old school Joni Mitchell and Simon & Garfunkel. Back to more recent days with Scapegoat Wax and Ok Go, the CD keeps its bouncy attitude before slowing down with Death Cab For Cutie again and Jason Mraz. Then there's an odd foray into Emiliana Torrini and Bjork, who coincidentally enough Emiliana is often compared to. The album leaves on a mellow note with Boomkat (the band featuring actress Tamryn Manning) and Dot Allison. All in all, a cool mix to do homework to late at night.

i think i still need convincing when it comes to boomkat, but i was def pleased with this mix - esp the dropline, bjork and ok go tracks.. loved the classic segue with joni and S&G - thanks for another great mix (sorry for posting this so long after i got it).. hey post the intro to neo soul you made me, that was damn good too!
