#8.....If Byrds was PURE LOVE, well I don't know what I'm gonna say about The Smiths. Well Morrissey is a fantastic Poet, maybe one of the biggest in our time, and a incredible songwriter, especially with Johnny Marr. It was so ****** hard doin this single-disc. It's amazing how a band in about 3 years could made so many fantastic songs, so many great A-sides & B-sides and albums.......I'm not so familiar with Morrissey's solo work.........I actually don't know why but I'm sure I gonna collect them all;-)

Great mix. I much prefer Mozza's work with Johnny Marr/Smiths than solo - his first record, "Viva Hate" is probably his best - he went down hill after that. Also good is the comp "Bona Drag", which has all the early ("good") singles on it. Of course, I'm sure others on here will disagree with me, in regards to his later stuff, but that's my opinion and I'm sticking with it!!

This is a cool mix (once again, I'm interested in what you think of my "Caligula would have blushed" mix), and I'm with Sue 100% on Morrissey's solo career, down to the two CDs that she cites as his best. I actually think Johnny Marr is the real talent in this band.

Moz i still the best, his concerts this fall was marvellous and all new 5 five songs are high quality, but the Smiths oh my god like Jam & Clash they have meant so much for me, it's too muchj feelings to comprimise into a single CD but of course everything on this one are ACE

I'm not very familiar with The Smiths, but I do recognise a lot of these tracks, so I can say this is great.

The Smiths were one of those bands I liked better on paper than in actual execution -- innovative lyrical approach, nice guitar sound, but a little Morrissey goes a long way. I've got the 2 greatest hits discs, and those pretty much do the trick for me. Interestingly (or not), many of the tracks I like best (Girlfriend in a Coma, Ask, How Soon is Now, London) didn't make your cut.

yum! I love this. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is one of my all-time favorite songs by them. :)
