Comment:
Pretty self-explanatory, really.A quick note about side 2 tr 10: it's from a CD called Acid Brass wherein traditional brass band interprets a number of acid house classics.
On paper it comes over as a horrible post-modernist jape, in fact, it's a totally succesful example of Northern working-class cultures engaging in a dialogue acrosss the generations.
Once you stop sniggering at the superficial incongruities, it's actually rather moving.
Sermon over. Enjoy
Feedback:
Groovy! Atomic Swing's "Stone Me Into the Groove" woulda' worked as well. Nice Mr. Bloe, Hello, Dee Lite (can't help but smile at that one), and the might-ay Funkadelic!!! (You must be a religious sort.., if you're rather used to not sniggering at superficial incongruence... ;)
I love "horrible post-modernist jape(s)" and I love this mix. Especially love the "Into the Groove" bookends and that Dee-Lite track, like Valis, always make me smile.
Elwood & his brother Jake woulda' been hip t'this...!
"it's not vicious or malicious, just lovely & delicious."

I can get down to this. Really looks good.
good call on the mix
This seems another great mix but no longer available to download, any chance of reupping it (if that's the term). Also the Bo Diddley one; would be a nice tribute to the man!
