Comment:

For Jen. Not every song has a romantic message, but the mix is very romantic for a variety of reasons. Aside from a couple of key tracks, the subject matter of the songs included is not as important as the fact that I included the specific song in question. There are some ragged-ish transitions here, but that's part of the general charm of this particular mix. Thanks to Randy Handfulls for the Fall tune and to kristinaface for the LL Cool J song. Title (which is all too true in this case) from the Billy Bragg track.

ok I can imagine "Question of lust" be romantic but Husker Du - Terms of Psychic Warfare,
Momus - What Will Death Be Like?, Joy Division - Warsaw or dead Kennedys too, but it looks fun to me

nice mix, but shouldn't the title be "You're my reason *not* to get out of bed before noon"?

Like in "High Fidelity", where you're making a mix for her, instead of the mix you want her to listen to? I always have trouble trying to do that. There are a bunch of good cuts here; I love that Pavement song.

Love (and understand) the sentiment. Completely. "Bonnie and Clyde" works..!

Very interesting cuts. I just had a talk about that Elvis song - is it really sad or really corny? I can't quite decide. It sure seems peculiar showing up on a romantic mix, though, as does the LL Cool J song. But hey, who's keeping score?

Very cool, Rob. Tons of great stuff on here. That Roots track is a recent favorite around our house these days. Nice...(what Valis said).

No, this isn't your typical romantic mix, but it's still pretty marvelous. So are you or Jen moving to California?

I like this too. A lot. I definitely don't think the Elvis is corny. Now, if John Tesh were singing it...

Great title (and a great song!) Also nice to see Divine Comedy in there. Saw them live a month back and it was a great show! You've got not one but two songs that Dean Wareham later covered (Youth, Bonnie and Clyde). Steve Wynn also did a good cover of Bonnie and Clyde.
