i went to turn on loveline this cold morning, 1 a.m., to fall asleep to. what i found was that j.lo was playing instead. my favorite radio station, wnew, had changed formats. gone is loveline. possibly gone are ron and fez and eddie trunk. wnew has temporarily gone top 40 to cleanse away it's old listener demographics. so here is my cd tribute to the pussification of WNEW. not really theme, not really narrative. a little of both. some top 40 stuff sprinkled in with the songs representing the narrative thoughts in my head. the story being that wnew submits (which it did) but the listeners revolt and bring back all the good shows. o&a included. mind you, i like all these artists, top 40, what have you, i like most everything, but here in ny we have enough top 40 as it is. no good. here i come, syndication underground, buddies.
