Comment:

For abigail dice. Due to the relatively small size of this band's catalog, this mix was a bit of a no-brainer... but what a *great* no-brainer (not because of any particular skill on my part in assembling these tracks chronologically, but because this band is easily one of my favorite bands of the '90s and definitely my favorite E6 band). I really, really hope that the super-talented, awe-inspiring Jeff Mangum gets well enough to make another record at some point.

Oh my, I must be out of the loop. What happened to Jeff? And this is unquestionably one of the best bands of the 90s. I can't imagine anyone arguing about that. He has an incredible songwriting gift. The mix is great too, it goes without saying.

Jeff apparently had a massive nervous breakdown after "Aeroplane" and hasn't released anything since.

Excellent mix of one of my favorite bands. Jeff Mangum has appeared on a few albums, put out an album with a collage of his field recordings of Bulgarian folk music, and done some interesting radio shows for WFMU since "Aeroplane", but I'm not counting on his releasing an album of songs again. This interview with Pitchfork does a good job of summing up his post-"Aeroplane" activities.
