Comment:
This mix is for two of my very best friends (who, to quote old Will, I have "grappled to my soul with hoops of steel"). No new stuff, mostly the same old things I've been putting on mixes for eveyone else, but it's all the stuff I can't seem to quit listening to. So I'm gonna make them listen to it, too. (Sidenote: I KNOW i keep saying this, but OK Go rocks. Saw 'em last night again. Find them. Drive if you have to. Do it.)
Feedback:
yay! this is awesome. wonderful pics by Ash and J,LC. :) and that OK Go song is so cute. hehehe. nice job as always Courtney!
well my oh my, Har Mar Superstar seems to be creeping his way into a lot of mixes. I saw him open for the Hives once....he did a really cool cover of "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder, and also nearly got naked. And he is quite large. Cool mix!
excellent mix..except for the har mar superstar.. he's grossss. but sarah harmer is yum yum yum
yay ben folds five! yay! good job.
Mwahaha, dragging out the Har Mar:) Fun times. I put "Baby Do You Like My Clothes" on a mix for a friend...they nearly had an epileptic attack. Creeeeepy.
And regarding your comment on the last mix, no it's not Bill Clinton. He's a dirty old man. It's actually for someone on AOTM....*blushes*... oh to have a crush on someone you hardly know....and doesn't even live in the same country...

great mix and exceptional cover photo -- frank sinatra couldn't ask to be flanked by more clever artists
Not that it shouldn't be obvious, but once again, great mix :)
this looks like an awesome mix, but i have to tell you an OK Go story. I have to admit that seeing your gushing over them really piqued my interest so I got the CD about a month ago. I like it a lot. So, they were in town (Richmond) last night with the Donnas so I decided to go with a couple of my friends. Imagine my disappointment when I showed up and found out that they weren't playing because the singer was sick! On the bright side, I got to talk to the bassist Tim for a few minutes. He was real cool and we talked about DC where they were playing the next night. Anyway, I mentioned the website and that they had some big fans on it. He was like, "Cool..." Also, the Donnas were pretty fun to watch. Overall, I was pretty bummed not to see them since we stood out in the freezing cold for 2 hours to get tickets...argh......
Here are MY OK Go stories: The first time I saw them was in Fort Worth. They played at an art fair, but it was raining and so basically it was us, some homeless people, and a handful of brave souls who enjoy art in the rain. Nevertheless, they rocked. Then this last time was at Emo's in Austin...I drove 3 hours down there, thinking they were doing the late show. Wrong. Early show. Missed more than half of their set (although we did show up in time to see their cover of Jesse's Girl, which made me very happy), and I was BUMMED!! The Donnas are great live, though, and then the guys were all hanging out after the show to talk to anyone who was interested.
