Comment:
This Mix is designed to help those who have just been brutally dumped by a partner they cared deeply for. There are many levels to how this is achieved. The first song, for instance, has Dylan's eerily depressing vocals as a live performer, which reminds the listener of how upset they are. It is then followed by the uplifting work of Fleetwood Mac, in complete constrast.
Once the emotions of the listerner have been made slightly more cheerful by Fleetwood Mac, the Mix decides to go through the range of emotions one would experience after being the subject of a break-up (including the ultra-cheesy work of Billy Field) until eventually the end is resolved with the classic "Time To Say Goodbye". After that, the listener should (hopefully) be somewhat over their ex and ready to move on, which is the ultimate goal of the Mix.
It is by no means perfect, but it is still remarkably useful.
