Comment:
OK, so I stole a cue from my friend Gerry for this mix, and used a line from what's probably my very favorite movie for its title. (I'll wait to see who can identify the movie...) Most of the songs relate in some way to the movie, or at least make me feel the same way that the movie does. Which is weird, because I think the movie is riotously funny, while this mix is decidedly not funny. But I guess there are many different ways to reach the same emotions and truths, aren't there?
Feedback:
This looks very cool. Love the title and cover and I got mad love for that Langley pick. :)
"Badlands"Bad mix (bad in the good way).Laura Cantrell, Ronstadt/Emmylou and Uncle Tupelo are really bad (again...).
This is a great mix, and those Tom Waits and Uncle Tupelo songs in particular are amazing.
Very nice, especially around the midrift.
Ah, Curtis Burns, why am I not at all surprised that you - with your impeccably eclectic good taste - was able to name the movie so quickly?
Curtis is great and so are this mix too
This makes me want to hop in my car and drive down a lonely Texas highway all night. Fantastic as always Misfit. Always good to see your name on the list of new mixes.
Mmm, I really like a whole bunch of these. Really, a whole bunch. Especially, Lucinda and Tom. And damned if that version of "Desperado" isn't just the lovliest thing out there.
This looks great!
Great stuff! Where is that Neil Young song from?
I wouldn't mind being in that car with Franklin..., especially given the local temperatures. Plus, it's always easier to drive to stuff like this when you have a helper to pop the next beer for you....nice one Misfit.
Sport, the Neil Young song is from "Sleeps with Angels."
a brilliant mix, which I managed to miss when I was "away". Gotta get this one soon, and steal as many cues from me as you like, my friend, if it inspires you to make great mixes like this one!
