Comment:

When asked to hook up with other outfits, most musicians stick doggedly to what they know — but Oasis never did. To kick it off, here's Liam relishing the company of groundbreaking electronic duo Death In Vegas, as he roars through the title track to Scorpio Rising, retooling mid-'60s psychedelia for the 21st century. And there's Noel exploring an orbit light-years away from planet Oasis, surfing the ferment of electro-distortion on the brain-shaking "Dig Your Own Hole," mashing up acid-house trippiness with a louder-than-bombs backbeat. And who did blues-rock powerhouse North Mississippi Allstars turn to when they needed background vocals for the ballad "One to Grow On" from their genius third album, Polaris? That would be Noel again, treading the line between grit and grace with characteristic ease. The rest of these collaborative tracks — by the likes of Paul Weller, The Prodigy, and others — only serve to enhance the towering esteem in which Oasis is held.
