Side one is all rustic, pastoral, angsty, soulful.
Side two is all plastic, spacey, ironic, cheeky.
Side one highlight: The Mountain Goats turn Ace of Base's "The Sign" into a passionate spiritual of sorts; honestly, he sings it as if it mattered. Side two highlight: Figurine record what would have been 1984's best new wave hit in 1999. Go figure.
