Comment:
A companion to my British Pastoral mix.One of Pop's abiding themes is sympathy towardsd / identification with / emulation of the disposessed, the rootless & the outsider -never more so than in the post-psychedelic / pre-glam years.
On film, it was manifested in the slew of road movies that followed in Easy Rider's dust trail. On record, it was just about everywhere. As demonstrated here.
Feedback:
Some outstanding picks! The Byrds, Canned Heat, Marmalade, Creedence, HP Lovecraft (!)....hell, it mighta' been easier to state which ones I am unfamiliar with...., you're right, I think it's still a theme that some artists choose to bring to the forefront....others, they couldn't be bothered. Nice one plushpig!
Nice one indeed.
Daniel Boone??? The "Skydiver/Beautiful Sunday/"Sunshine Lover" guy? You're hard-core, man , you're hard-core . . .
this looks really great, just the kind of stuff i've been listening to a bit lately, too.
Yeah, very cool. We should trade at some point.
