Comment:
This is songs for girls that Russ has dated/had a crush on. The names have been changed to protect the innocent, the stupid and the cruel. We kick it off with a (1) Groucho quote (Lady: "This is a gala day for you." Groucho: "Well a gal a day is enough for me, I don't think I can handle any more.") , followed by (2)Paul Simon's "You're the One", a song that describes my relationship with one that we will call "Annie" for now. This song was employed in this position because it seems to be about a guy who really liked this chick until she "broke his heart" and "made him cry". This is more or less what Annie did to me. How did she do it? Well, she made my last month with her miserable by periodically sitting me down for discussions on how I wasn't being a good enough boyfriend, and, just before I was about to reluctantly break up with her, she dumped me. So, from then on my attitude to her was one that made me want to tell her to (3) "Kiss Off". Next, I met a wonderful girl who had more energy than anyone I've ever known. Her name was(n't) "Betty", and we stayed together for about three months. Then she got a (4) spiderbite on her hand (no joke), and as she had to stay home a lot, we stopped talking as much, and more or less grew apart. We both admitted to each other that (5) we didn't really care whether we stayed together or not. So we broke up. Next, I was reeled in by a very (6)good-looking girl (not) named "Wendy". She led me on, letting me think she was interested for a very long time before I caught on. She was, as OK Go would say, a "boy-trap". So once I saw what she was doing, I figured, (7) Why Bother? Then I met a nice young lady who I will call "Donna"(8). We set up a date, but, an extra-ordinary event happened where I went to visit a female friend who lives out-of-town that I will call "Mia" for now. Needless to say, I fell for Mia(9), and when I came back home for my date with Donna, I tried a bit too hard to not let Mia interfere with my life back home, and was not too kind to Donna(10). Then I found that Mia had similar feelings for me, although I hate long distance relationships(11). She agreed, and so we decided to keep it as friends. Then I met an amazing girl that I will call "an amazing girl".(12) However, I'm not "fit to touch the hem of her garment"(13), as John McCrea would say. For some reason, though, she seems to like me a bit as well, and frankly, I consider myself (14) "The Luckiest".Feedback:
Whoa... I get it! Heh, nice mix, Russ. Even though one is named "Donna," and I don't like the fact that you're blemishing that beautiful, beautiful name.
Yay for amazing girls. And yay for this mix...except, do you possibly think you have enough Weezer on here? I love them, but I'm not used to seeing three of their tracks on a mix at once.
Hehe. I was in a pinkerton mood.
good idea on a mix.. esp narrated like you did, awesome :) good luck with 14
*great* narrative, Russ! Here's hoping the 'amazing girl' is 'hur' :)
