Comment:
Ahh, part two of my experiment of mixing all the artists I own in alphabetical order. This one is actually, this is a mix I feel like I would have easly made even without the experiment... a lot of really solid bands (many of them ones that barely anyone is listening to, like Buddha on the Moon, Boycrazy and especially the Bingo Trappers). These mixes are turning out a lot better than the first time I did this experiment as I've refined my collection, adding more superlative bands to WAY outnumber the just pretty good ones. Listening through this on my computer, I'm hoping the rest of the series islike this one...Feedback:
looks gr8, patrick, esp les clientele, i just love them...
This looks really cool, I'd love to hear it sometime. Wanna trade?
Indeed some cool stuff here. Not many people are into Clem Snide it seems, though I may be making that up now, I haven't really checked. A bit surprised not to see any Big Star here, but nice nonetheless.
Big Star I'm still on the fence about. Clem Snide? No they seem pretty popular, at least among this crowd... If you look up Clem Snide here, there's 17 pages of mixes they're on... as opposed to ome of the bands, really good ones, that have appeared on less than a dozen mixes.
You are right about the Bingo Trappers- I've included them before and they are a great band. Are these really all the bands you have in between be and cl? damn, you are really missing some great bands...
Well don't just tell me I am, tell me what bands! I'm always looking for more.
just a quick list- bitter bitter weeks, black dice, blood brothers, blood group, blow monkeys, boggs, brainiac, british sea power, calculators, camera obscura, catheters, cex, chameleons, chisel...
Cool, I've heard a few already, but there's actually a number of those I've never tried. Thanks!
Looks like another fine series Patrick, with more obscurities than the first. Perhaps antbabe needs to make you a Taylor-made-like mix. Keep 'em coming.
You're right, there are 332 mixes with Clem Snide on them. That's what I get for making shit up. And if you can find Bash and Pop's album, that's worth getting, though after typing this I realize that would be on the previous disc. I just can't get anything right tonight, so I'll just stop while I'm behind. I'll be watching for the rest of these too, and hopefully I can try to make an accurate comment on at least one of them. Though I do still love Big Star.
I just recently found out about a band that I find quite interesting, and I suppose you might find that too. I posted this here because alphabetically it would fit in here. The band's name is Boothby, featuring the guy behind A Boy Named Thor and Kelly Slusher. As I know that you like A Boy Named Thor, as you posted at one of my mixes, you might give it a shot. I think they're about to release an album, but you can always track down some mp3s on the web. I found a couple, although they were pretty hard to find. Also I forgot where I found them or I would tell you.
Awesome, thanks for letting me know.
you might like the califone song-"golden ass" its one of the songs on the new album and ive seen them play it twice live, it rocks hard, especially for califone
