Comment:
Here's the second and probably final volume of Lights Out SF. Pretty much the same artists, different songs except for Frisco Blues. I have added tracks from Traffic and Quicksilver Messenger Service that I thought worked. On the original Voco double album, in addition to some interesting Middle Eastern-sounding stuff, was a great track by Cold Blood (w/ Lydia Pense singing) about when "...my man is not at home, I know he's not alone". That would be great to get some Cold Blood if anyone has some. Hope you enjoy this.
Feedback:
another nice one steve. I love the Dan hicks stuff especially
Far out again! Love the Airplane, Hooker, Jorma and QMS. Oh hell, it's all good. Let me know if you'd like to expand our trade.
A worthy companion to vol 1. Great work.
I liked both of these (being a San Francisco resident and thus biased). Kinda curious about the omission of Moby Grape, certainly among the best of the late '60's SF bands; and, to a lesser extent, the early work by the Steve Miller Band. If it was based on an omission in your collection (rather than a conscious decision), I strongly urge you to pick up the 2-cd Moby Grape anthology (which includes the entirety of their fantastic first album), as well as the SMB's Sailor cd.
Excellent series. Too bad there won't be more.
This is great late night driving music ... not to mention good music for getting snowed-in in Vermont ....
