Comment:

These are some original songs where one of their covers is far better known than the original. Many are R&B, some are from other genres.

Kitty was covered by Toni Basil under the title "Mickey" in 1981. The Italian song "Gloria" was covered in English by Laura Branigan in 1982. Others are probably self-explanantory, at least if you've been listening to music as long as I have (-:

Excellent qwork. Might I suggest adding "Move It On Over" by The Maddox Bros. & Rose?

It was later turned into a successful cover by George Thoroughgood. The originasl is an excellent rockabilly.

Just browsing Ed. This looks intruiging to me. I had no idea, for instance, that Mickey or Video Killed.. by Basil & The Buggles weren't the originals. Fancy another trade? I'd love to hear this...

This looks great! Who covered the Marvelows' "I Do"? It's one of my all-time favourite songs, and I'm a fan of their's... I hadn't realized that anyone else had done it.
