Comment:

Today is the day before one of the worst holidays for guys without girlfriends (and vice versa)....Valentine's Day. So, I am trying to make the best of it Usually, on Valentine's Day there will be people giving out candy or little cards or whatever. I thought I would do something a little different and make cds. The majority of the group that I made these for mainly listen to the radio, so I tried to keep it at a certain level without getting too poppy, in an attempt to win them over to good music. There are so many other songs and bands that i would of liked to use, but i was afraid most wouldn't appreciate. I did manage to get Jim O'Rourke, Spoon, and Sigur Ros on here.

I ended up making 29 copies. Man, it seemed a lot easier in idea. It took a lot of time to print off all the paper deals with the list of songs and bands and the cover and cut them out. Originally, I was going to put them all in plastic bags with the two sheets of paper to go with them but ended up paying a couple dollars and bought cases. Hopefully, it will be worth my effort and everyone will really enjoy it.

I'm thinking about saving 4 copies and placing them in random places of my town for people to find. It has my name and email address inside, so it could end up serving two purposes. Odds seem slim of meeting a girl that way but it'd be pretty cool.

Happy Hallmark Day.....or Valentine's Day...or stay at home, ball up in the dark corner of your room and cry over your loneliness day.....whatever have you.

Good mix. Might use some of these for my V-day mix. I like the idea of leaving the Cds around randomly. Never know who you could meet!

29 copies, eh? I think you have way more friends than I do. This looks good, and I also LOVE the idea of random music drops. I've thought about doing it myself, because I know how thrilled I would be if *I* found a mix CD somewhere.

We should add a section for random music drops to the site (a la www.bookcrossing.com) and add a numerical tracking system. This could be very cool. Great mix.

kristina initiated some 'random acts of mixtape kindness' in her washington, dc area, and i used her idea in france... it's a great thing to do, drop mixes in places or hand them to strangers on the streets !

Hey nick your CD was the best mother ever. I would have enjoyed it more though if Justin Timberlake had been on it but o-well who cares anyways. It was what i always wanted for Valentine's day.
