Comment:
Some of my favorites from Jay Farrar and Co.'s three CD's ("Trace", "Straightaways", & "Wide Swing Tremolo"), plus some rarities as indicated. Cut from this mix (due to length) but still vital listening is their cover of "Holocaust".Feedback:
Great idea for a single artist mix...and, of course, you saved Windfall for last :-)
I've only got the first album, but it's good stuff. It's the only album that I know of that was produced in my little college town here. Crazy. Anyhow, "Windfall" is of course a beautiful song, and I'd love to hear that cover of "Holocaust".
Saw these guys a bunch and, despite his stand-off-ishness, Jay and co. never disapointed. Met him at a recent solo gig and found him to be a very nice chap. You've hit so many great tracks here, but I too would love to hear Holocaust (as it's my fave Big Star track). Let me know if you're up for a trade.
