Comment:
Basically, I was having one of those waves of nostalgia that comes around now and again, and it was making me want to listen to 80s music. But I really didn't want to go digging up songs I knew by heart, so I dug through the 15 CD "Just Can't Get Enough" series to find songs I either didn't know or hadn't gotten tired of, and started compiling my favorites (along with a handful of songs from other sources). What this project taught me: "Stool Pigeon" is one of the most dangerously catchy songs ever. I made this mix months ago and the possibility of it cropping up in my head on any given day is still surprisingly high. Also, China Crisis seems to be the best new wave band that I never listened to at all when new wave was still a going concern. (I also came late to Prefab Sprout, the Go-Betweens, and Aztec Camera, but they weren't really new wave. They were proto-90s alternative. And that about covers my semantic hair-splitting for the day.)Feedback:
Lotta good and unique choices here! People forget that the Bangles were ever that good!
Yeah,I have all those "Just can't get enough" cd's as well.I think that Fischer Z song "So Long" and The Miracle Legions' "The Backyard" would have fit nicely on this as well.
Miracle Legion is on a later volume, actually. (^_^)
