Comment:
I had all these songs that I tended to hesitate to put on other mixes because they were really long, and I had to really really really love a six-minute-plus song to put it on a mix CD. So since my long song usage wasn't keeping up with my acquisition of long songs, I made a mix of nothing but long songs. I wanted them all to be over six minutes, but there was about five and a half minutes left after pulling ten songs for the mix, so I decided to be flexible for "White Lines" (which actually features Grandmaster Flash, in case you thought Duran Duran didn't have enough cred to cover that song).Feedback:
Well, Jimmy Page plays on P(uff) Di/addy's evisceration of "Kashmir" and people still cry foul, so I don't think that argument holds up. That said, I really love a lot of the songs on here, especially the Buzzcocks' and LCD Soundsystem's.
You make a good point, Ben. But while most of the songs on the Duran Duran covers album are garbage, I still find "White Lines" and "911 Is a Joke" mysteriously compelling.
