Comment:

Continuing to mix all the aritsts in my CD collection in alphabetical order, some great (Quasi, Pinback), some occasionally not so often used in my mixes for one reason or another (Posies, RHCP), some very deserving of more use... Have many other people heard of The Revelers? There's only one other AOTM mix that's used the band, and listening through the album, I think it's really good stuff, somewhere in between the Minders and Weezer (mind you, I love the Minders and feel lukewarm about Weezer, so my appreciation of the Revelers is in between that as well). Anyway, it's a band that's good enough, that I think more people would like a lot, but that it looks like no one else has really stumbled upon them yet.

Gave them a listen about a year ago and couldn't get into them at the time.

that's a wonderful Red Hot Chili Peppers song. (well, obviously you already knew that!) but no Pixies?

Actually, I bought the Pixies albums while in LA earlier this year, but I was borke so I sold them back off because they were still wrapped and... I haven't gotten around to buying them again. I do need to though... I'm waiting to come across that version of "Surfer Rosa" that includes the "Come On Pilgrim" tracks as well.

Great mix, esp. the Rain Parade - I just got the LP a couple of weeks back (used, of course, but in an almost new condition). My R's would include mostly Red House Painters, I think. What's wrong with the Posies?

Clearly I remember the Revelers - they are from eastern Ohio, though relocated to NYC a few years back. I don't know if they broke up or not. George Frank, bass player from BoogieMan Smash (and an one-time bass student of mine), became their bassist. Good guy, and good band. Nice clean guitar sounds.

By the way, the Rain Parade kicked ass.

Don't know the Revelers, but I love the Minders so I'll check 'em out. I second the demand that you run out and buy the Pixies today (or we could just shoot you some Pixies mixes). Reivers would fit in here nicely as well.

Yeah, yeah, I need the Pixies, okay... my bss has the albums so I'll just borrow and bun them off of him. Is everyone happy! (And the Reivers are on my "to listen to" list, thanks for reminding me.)

I keep hoping to find someone in this hood who has Rank and File. I had the vinyl in the 80's, but that was long ago...

Nice A - Z project
