Comment:
origins of the tape: matt got the magazine album "real life" and i told him he had to hear the single version of "shot by both sides." fittingly enough, it's on here...the interlude in between "milkman" and "too drunk etc." is from a radio broadcast where tuli kupferberg (of the fugs) sang a song titled "go fuck yourself with your atom bomb," then this caller (who reminded some people of woody allen) said, "that is the most obscene abomination of a song..." it shows up on the dukes of stratosphear cd, on the track "my love explodes." (oh, by the way. yeah, i know i'm not supposed to repeat artists, as with the two cky songs [both from "volume 2"] and the xtc/dukes of stratosphear. but fuck it! matt doesn't care. he made me a tape, and he put two fugazi songs on it... he doesn't mind.)the "intro" from the first bad brains album ends the tape, as i felt that it's the only way the tape could end. (it ends the album, as well.)final note: the title is a reference to the zaner-bloser handwriting method, and is itself a reference to a conversation matt and i had about how much we hated learning handwriting... the artwork for this tape (which i'm not posting due to possible copyright violations) comes from the zaner-bloser website. also, side a is titled "cursive" or "fuck you, charles paxton zaner" and side b is titled "manuscript" or "fuck you, too, elmer ward bloser."Feedback:
why has no one commented on this mix? it's largely glorious.
